About this Case

Mr. Ahmad Tarmu is one of the 12028 individuals listed in an addendum to the Mojahed magazine (No 261), published by Mojahedin Khalq Organization in 1985. The list includes individuals, affiliated with various opposition groups, who were executed or killed during clashes with the Islamic Republic security forces from June 1981 to the publication date of the magazine.

The execution of Mr. Ahmad Tarmu, along with nine others, was also announced in a communiqué by the public relations office of the Public Prosecutor’s Office of the Islamic Revolution in Hormozgan. The communiqué was published in the Jomhuri Eslami Daily on June 2, 1982.

According to this communiqué, Mr. Tarmu, along with nine others, was generally charged with actively supporting the Mujahedin-e Khalq Organization or MKO, “membership in the Organization, participation in planning and commanding different military operations , assassination of Dehqani (a policeman), Pourdalir, Haji Gholamhosseiny and Haj Izadpanah (the martyrs), participation in planning the destruction of the bridge connecting Bandar Abbas to Shiraz, destruction of a quay, explosion of a ship of provisions ,participation in an armed robbery, hiding in safe houses, possession of different weapons and intra-organizational marriages” [marriages among the members of the MKO to promote its interest- translator’s note]. Specifically, he was reported to “have participated in military operations, attacking Shahid Mohammadi hospital and injuring two Basij (mobilization) guards.”
