About this Case

The execution of Mr. Mansur Purqorban, along with twelve others, was reported in the Jomhuri Eslami Daily on January 3, 1982. The report quoted a communiqué from the public relations office of the Islamic Revolution’s Chief Public Prosecutor.

Additional information regarding Mr. Purqorban was drawn from a list of 12028 individuals published in an addendum to the Mojahed magazine (No 261), by Mojahedin Khalq Organization in 1985. The list includes individuals, affiliated with various opposition groups, who were executed or killed during clashes with the Islamic Republic security forces from June 1981 to the publication date of the magazine.

According to this communiqué, Mr. Purqorban was a member of the military wing and his alleged charges were “armed insurrection against the Islamic Republic of Iran, directing the military team of the Mujahedin-e Khalq Organization or MKO in Port Anzali, participation in many destructive terrorist operations, assassination of the 14-year-old Esmaeel Dalir and Haj Ahmad Fathali Zadeh, providing munitions, housing and etc. for the operational teams of the MKO and living in a MKO safe house.”
