About this Case

The execution of Mr.Yaqub Azadmanesh, along with nine others, was announced in a communiqué by the public relations office of the Public Prosecutor’s Office of the Islamic Revolution in Hormozgan. The communiqué was published in the Jomhuri Eslami Daily on June 2, 1982.

Charges

According to this communiqué, Mr. Azadmanesh, along with nine others, was generally charged with actively supporting the Mujahedin-e Khalq Organization or MKO, “membership in the Organization, participation in planning and commanding different military operations , assassination of Dehqani (a policeman), Pourdalir, Haji Gholamhosseiny and Haj Izadpanah (the martyrs), participation in planning the destruction of the bridge connecting Bandar Abbas to Shiraz, destruction of a quay, explosion of a ship of provisions, participation in an armed robbery, hiding in safe houses, possession of different weapons and intra-organizational marriages” [marriages among the members of the MKO to promote its interest- translator’s note]. Specifically, he was reported to have participated in terror operations and disarmament of a revolutionary guard.
